ABOUT THE AUTHORS

Nancy Riegelman was born in San Francisco.  She attended the University of California at Berkely, UCLA, and Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, where she studied drawing and fine arts.

Nancy Teaches fashion drawing at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles and international style at Art Center College of Design.  She has been visiting professor at the University Premila Polytechnic in Bombay, India, Seibu University in Tokyo, Japan, the Paris Fashion Institute, and the Central Academy of Art & Design in Beijing, China.

Nancy is also a fine artist.  Her most recent exhibition was of drawings at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.  Nancy lives in Los Angeles.

Melanie Denny was born in Queensland, Australia.  She attended the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles (under the pupilage of Nancy Riegelman), and the Istituto Marangoni in Milan, Italy.

Melanie has been a freelance agent working in the industry as a designer, illustrator, and technical designer for a diverse range of companies including Nicole Miller, BCBG, Guess, The Disney Stores, and Pacific Sunwear.  She has collaborated with Nancy Riegelman on previously published works.

Melanie is also the head designer for a custom menswear and accessory design company, OzdendeS, based in Los Angeles, California.
